The Eternal Reference Point (Luke 20:27-40)

The Eternal Reference Point (Luke 20:27-40)

In this passage, Jesus sets himself as the reference point for the cosmos. A reference point determines how one assesses anything. A reference point provides a basis for a wise course of action.  If you don’t have a reference point, you will be quickly confused and disoriented. For a reference point to be helpful, it must be objective. It must have a fixed foundation. Jesus has given us a fixed foundation in eternity by which we can understand how to live our lives now.

The future resurrection, and its permanence, gives us a true reference point for holiness.

The future resurrection gives us a reference point for all forms of suffering and hardship.

The future resurrection gives us a reference point for mission.
