The Sufficiency of Obedience (1 Kings 17:1-16)

The Sufficiency of Obedience (1 Kings 17:1-16)

The second sermon from the series “The Kingdom of the Otherwise,” based on the life of Elijah and Elisha from 1 and 2 Kings. In this series we look at what it means to live in full obedience to God. We see the repercussions of disobedience as well as the hope of obedience. We always have two choices before us. To follow the kingdom of self or to follow the Kingdom of God. When we follow God, we become ambassadors of His Kingdom and proclaim that their is another way, another option, the path to true blessing, The Kingdom of the Otherwise.

In this message, we follow Elijah as he obeys the Word of God as God leads him into the wilderness to be fed by ravens and a pagan widow. We see how God perfectly and completely provides exactly what His prophet needs even though it was what Elijah (or any of us) expected. We see how God uses our obedience not only to bless and provide for us, but for those around us.
