God calls people into a relationship with him as adopted children. Within this relationship, we are called to a life of obedience, being formed into the very nature and character of God. This obedience is one of freedom and joy, knowing that God the Father delights affectionately in his children. We do not obey God as a cold taskmaster, but as a loving father who delights in his children and receives them in joy.
