Striving for holiness by following the law will never bring inner transformation of the heart. It’s often called legalism and it destroy spiritual life. Those who live by a moral code and try to create a false sense of righteousness and ignore the true sin in the heart will be disqualified for true spiritual life.
We must abide in Christ and grow with a growth that is from God.
