Bringing God to Work (Genesis 21:22-34)

Bringing God to Work (Genesis 21:22-34)

God is with his people, those who confess the name of Jesus.

According to Matthew, Jesus bears the designation of “Emmanuel,” or “God with us.”

One of Paul’s favorite phrases is “is Christ.” Consider what “in Christ” means for “God with us.”

God with us doesn’t merely mean God is associated with you, like your friend at the restaurant. God with us doesn’t merely mean God is near to you, as though he’s riding shotgun. God with us is God in us, and God in us means that the very person, power and glory of God dwells within and bursts forth.

This means God goes with us wherever we go, including our work. And bringing God to work carries massive implications.
