When we look at this passage, we see that Christ has already accomplished a new life and salvation for us. We live in response to what God has already done. We see that Christ has given us a new heavenly residence, sheltered us from the wicked, is returning with us as a display of glory, is pouring out wrath on wickedness, but has saved us from His wrath. Our response then, is to set our minds on the heavenly things, as citizens of God’s kingdom, and to put to death the old, sinful ways of life that kept us separated from God.
