What to Expect on Sundays

Our Sunday morning worship service starts at 10:00 but we open doors at 9:00 for fellowship, coffee, and refreshments. Most weeks we also have children’s Sunday School at 9:30. The service usually concludes around 11:15. Many people stay around for conversation until noon or later.

Our songs of worship consist largely of traditional hymns such in a modern style, and we often include the biblical psalms as hymns and some modern, theologically sound songs. We have many different musicians with different musical backgrounds, and the song styling changes depending on the musicians playing. We include a scripture reading from the Psalms, a catechism teaching from the Proverbs, and other elements designed to point your mind and heart to the Lord, to behold him, fear him, love him, and worship him with your life. We intend to create a worshipful, reverent environment with the various elements included in the service, but we are also relaxed and flexible. The pastors usually preach in jeans and a dress shirt.

We do not have children’s Sunday School during the service but instead invite everyone to participate in the main service together. This means that children of all ages are present during the service. On occasion, they make some noise, but we  love having the children in our services, as we believe their presence in the service helps cultivate an appreciation for the church as they grow. So, we don’t mind children making a few noises. We have coloring books and sermon note sheets available. However, you are welcome to bring activities or books for the younger children that might not follow along during the preaching.

You will be welcomed in whatever manner you arrive: dressed to the “nines”, wearing shorts, with children or without, hearts aflame to God, or uncertain of what it all means. You will be welcome. One of our values is “generous hospitality” and we want you to experience the fellowship of God’s people. We’d love to meet you and know you.
